Evaluation of Clinical Features and Outcomes of Patients with Coronavirus (COVID-19) Admitted to ICU in Southeastern Iran in 2020

Background: Coronavirus, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), in humans, mainly causes respiratory and gastrointestinal manifestations that can range from a simple cold to severe clinical symptoms or death. On the other hand, COVID-19 patients’ hospitalization intensive care unit (ICU) have serious problems, which affect their mortality; therefore, awareness of these problems has main role decision-making early stages. Objectives: This study aimed evaluate features outcomes patients with admitted ICU. Methods: cross-sectional (descriptive-analytical) was conducted on pneumonia ICU Valiasr Hospital, Birjand, Iran, 2020. A total 111 patients, including 51 female 63 male subjects, were enrolled this using convenience sampling. Demographic data, comorbidities, signs symptoms, radiological findings, supportive methods oxygen therapy, collected checklist compared between two groups (i.e., survivors nonsurvivors). Results: Among (including 59 nonsurvivors 52 survivors), numbers mortalities within age ranges ≥ 75 ≤ 44 years highest lowest, respectively. In survived hypertension (50.8%), diabetes mellitus (47.5%), heart (44.1%), chronic obstructive lung (23.7%) most common comorbidities. Moreover, dyspnea (81.1%), fever chills (73%), cough (64.9%), muscle pain (45%), weakness, lethargy (42.3%) patients.
